Advertising and partnership policy

Updated 13 October 2026. Kilter Hub may consider carefully labelled partnerships that respect readers and the site’s informational purpose.

This policy covers paid placements, sponsorships, partner messages, affiliate-style links if introduced, and commercial requests made to the editorial desk. It applies regardless of whether a placement appears on a page, in a newsletter, or beside an article. A commercial arrangement is evaluated before publication and may be reviewed again when its wording, audience, or destination changes.

1. Separation

Advertising is visually and verbally separated from independent editorial articles. A commercial message cannot purchase a favourable editorial conclusion.

Labels appear near the relevant material rather than only in a distant footer. Placement, colour, typography, and wording should help a reader distinguish paid material from an article. Sponsored content does not receive an editorial review that changes its commercial character. If the separation becomes unclear after a design change, the placement may be paused while it is corrected.

2. Suitable subjects

We consider work connected with everyday wellbeing, reading, movement environments, food culture, and community participation.

Subject suitability is assessed in relation to the site’s audience, the clarity of the offer, the destination page, and the evidence behind any factual statement. We avoid partnerships that require sensitive personal information or make a reader feel pressured to disclose it. A suitable topic can still be declined if its presentation is confusing, exaggerated, or inconsistent with the site’s informational tone. Review of a subject does not constitute endorsement of the partner.

3. Prohibited claims

We do not accept language promising guaranteed outcomes, immediate transformation, or a result unsupported by evidence.

We also review claims about price, time, performance, safety, qualifications, availability, and comparisons for clarity and substantiation. Testimonials cannot be presented as universal evidence or as a substitute for a clear description of the offering. Copy must not imply a personal assessment of a reader or use a sensitive attribute to pressure a decision. Unsupported claims are removed, requested for clarification, or declined.

4. Review

Commercial submissions are assessed for clarity, lawful presentation, audience suitability, and consistency with the reader-first character of Kilter.

Review may consider the advertiser identity, landing page, privacy notice, contact route, age suitability, and technical behaviour of the destination. We may request source material or a revised sentence before a placement is approved. A review is not a certification of every third-party service or statement. Approved material can be revisited when a complaint, policy change, or destination update is received.

5. Labelling

Paid placements use plain labels such as Advertisement, Sponsored, or Partner message near the content.

The label remains visible on mobile and desktop layouts and is not hidden behind an interaction required to understand the material. Affiliate or tracked links, if used, are identified in a clear nearby note. A label does not need to be repeated in every sentence, but it must remain associated with the commercial unit. If a reader reports that a label was unclear, we assess the placement within 10 business days.

6. Editorial independence

Advertisers do not approve independent articles, headlines, corrections, or decisions about whether a piece is published.

Partners may check factual details about their own product in a clearly labelled commercial draft, but they cannot rewrite independent analysis or remove a correction. Editors retain control of commissioning, source selection, publication timing, and updates. A partnership may be ended if its conditions begin to interfere with these responsibilities. Commercial revenue is not described as evidence that an editorial conclusion is correct.

7. Privacy

Partners do not receive contact messages or private reader information unless a reader clearly chooses to share it with them.

Contact details sent to Kilter are handled under the privacy policy and are not included in ordinary placement reports. Technical measurement, where used, is limited to the purpose disclosed and optional analytics require consent where applicable. A partner’s destination may have a separate privacy notice and may ask for information directly. Readers should review that notice before submitting a form on another domain.

8. Complaints

Readers may report a misleading or unclear placement to the Kilter Hub address or +62 813 5792 4680.

The address is Jalan Cendrawasih No. 25, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta Selatan, 12180, Indonesia. Please include the page address, label shown, date, and concern, without sending unnecessary personal information. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within 10 business days and assess it within 30 days where practical. A placement may be temporarily paused during review if its wording or destination creates a material concern.

9. Review period

Partnerships are reviewed at least annually and may be paused when context, claims, or audience suitability changes.

Annual review checks the label, creative, destination, privacy route, contact details, and any evidence supporting material claims. A partner must notify Kilter of a significant change rather than assuming that an earlier approval covers a new message. Review records are retained for 24 months after the partnership ends, unless a longer period is needed for a dispute or legal correspondence. Renewal is not automatic.

10. Revision

This version was published 13 October 2026. Future revisions will be dated and summarized for transparency.

The 13 October 2026 revision clarified separation, prohibited claims, complaint timing, privacy handling, and annual review. Future material changes will appear with a new date and a plain-language summary near the top of the page. Earlier versions may be retained internally to explain a commercial decision or correction, but they will not be presented as current policy.

Before publication, a commercial request may be checked for identity, destination, audience, wording, disclosure, privacy implications, and consistency with the site’s editorial scope. Supporting material should identify the source and date of a factual statement. A partner may be asked to revise unclear language, remove unsupported implications, or provide a clearer explanation of how a reader’s information is handled.

Commercial enquiries and review records are normally retained for up to 24 months after the last active discussion. Contact details are used to administer the request and are not added to an unrelated reader list without a separate permission basis. Providers supporting email, hosting, fraud prevention, or reporting may process limited information under contractual safeguards, including in jurisdictions outside Indonesia.

Readers can report a confusing label, broken destination, privacy concern, or material mismatch between an advertisement and its landing page. Send the page address and a short description to Jalan Cendrawasih No. 25, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta Selatan, 12180, Indonesia, or +62 813 5792 4680. We aim to acknowledge a report within 7 calendar days and provide a review response within 30 calendar days.

A placement may be paused while a concern is checked, and removal does not imply a finding about every part of a partner’s business. Review of a message is not a certification of the partner or its services. This policy was updated on 13 October 2026 and may be revised when platform rules, privacy requirements, or site formats change.
